Thank you for your inquiry. The PC104-AC5 requires a PC104 bus and cannot be connected to a standard PC. There is no USB or RS232/422 communication protocol available on this product. I would recommend that you use one of our very popular USB digital I/O products. You can review their specifications here: http://www.mccdaq.com/solutions/USB-Digital-IO-Parallel-TTL.aspx If you need pin-out compatibility to the PC104-AC5 then the USB-DIO96H has 4 internal 50 pin headers that match the pin-outs of the PC104-AC5.

I see 2.5 mA mentioned but that is barely enough to overcome the pull up resistor. Is 2.5 mA the maximum? Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff - The max/min source and sink current for the PC104-DIO48 is in fact +- 2.5 mA. The board utilizes the 82C55 chip which was designed for interfacing with TTL peripheral devices. If you need additional current drive then please use the PC104-DO48H which uses discreet logic and is capable of sourcing -15 mA and sinking 64 mA.
