Summary
The USB 2.0 DaqBoard/3000USB Series offers high-speed, multifunction data acquisition in a low-cost, board-only design. Unique to the DaqBoard/3000USB Series is a low-latency, highly deterministic setpoint control output mode that operates independent of the PC. In this mode digital, analog, and timer outputs can respond to analog, digital, and counter inputs as fast as 2 µs; at least 1,000 times faster than other products that rely on the PC for decision making.

The DaqBoard/3000USB Series has a 16-bit, 1-MHz A/D converter coupled with 16 single-ended, 8 differential analog inputs (/3001USB and /3005USB models), 64 single-ended, or 32 differential analog inputs (/3031USB and /3035USB models). Four of the analog inputs can be configured as four differential thermocouple inputs (all models). Each channel can be software-­configured for a different voltage range, as well as for single-ended or differential bipolar input, or thermocouple input (up to four channels). While all analog input ranges on the DaqBoard are calibrated at the factory, the DaqBoard also allows user calibration through a separate program called DaqCal. This software stores its calibration results in tables that are separate from factory calibration.

Twenty four TTL-level digital I/O lines are included in the DaqBoard/3000USB Series. Digital I/O can be programmed in 8-bit groups as either inputs or outputs and can be scanned in several modes. Four 32-bit counters are built into the DaqBoard/3000USB Series. Each of the four counters accepts frequency inputs up to 20 MHz, and each counter channel can be configured in a variety of modes, including counter, period, pulse width, time between edges, or multi-axis quadrature encoder. The analog, digital, and counter inputs all can be read asynchronously under program control, or synchronously as part of an analog and digital scan group.

Four 16-bit, 1-MHz analog output channels are built into the DaqBoard/3001USB and /3031USB units. Each D/A output can continuously output a waveform that can be read from PC RAM or a file on the hard disk. Alternatively, a program can ­asynchronously output a value to any of the D/As for non-waveform applications. The DaqBoard/3000USB Series can use two of its 8-bit ports to generate a 16-bit digital pattern at up to 1 MHz, and its hardware also includes two 16-bit timer outputs.

Included Software
DaqView DaqView is IOtech’s included Out-of-the-Box software which allows you to verify signal connections, acquire and save data to disk, and graphically view real-time data within moments of taking your IOtech hardware Out-of-the-Box. Easily set up all of your hardware, acquisition, and display parameters without programming via a simple spreadsheet-style screen. DaqView is a full-featured acquisition and display application that provides all the functionality you’ll need for most data-logging applications.

DaqCOM DaqCOM is a family of powerful programming tools for IOtech’s WaveBook, and Daq products. DaqCOM uses Microsoft®’s Component Object Model (COM) to provide a host of features for users who are developing custom applications with IOtech data acquisition products. DaqCOM can be used with any COM-compatible language, including Visual Basic®, VBA®, and Visual C++ operating under Windows®, as well as Visual Studio® .NET.*

NI LabVIEW™ Support NI LabVIEW™ Support is organized in a tiered modular architecture allowing improved VI customization and rapid device integration capabilities. Block diagrams have consistent wiring conventions which greatly increase the ability to adapt VI’s to specific application needs. Diagrams are well annotated to minimize application design effort. Clean, easy to understand front panels allow end users to quickly configure channel and acquisition settings.

MATLAB® Support MATLAB® Support is available for IOtech hardware by using the MATLAB Data Acquisition Toolbox. The Data Acquisition Toolbox enables MATLAB to control and acquire data from data acquisition equipment and allows measured data to be streamed and analyzed live into MATLAB. The data collected using test and measurement tools can be brought directly into the MATLAB workspace for fast and accurate data analysis, data manipulation, and pre- and post-processing.

PostView PostView is a time and frequency domain post-acquisition data viewing package which is integrated and ready to use from within your View package when you install it. PostView provides easy to use basic time and frequency domain data viewing for IOtech data acquisition View packages including DaqView, WaveView, Personal DaqView, LogView, and ChartView.

Additional Software
DASYLab<sup>&reg;</sup> Software DASYLab® Software lets you interactively develop PC-based data acquisition applications by simply attaching functional icons. DASYLab offers real-time analysis, control, and the ability to create custom graphical user interfaces (GUIs). What’s more, in contrast to other graphical programming environments, which can require weeks of training to master, DASYLab has a very short user-learning curve. Many applications can be configured in a few minutes, rather than days or weeks.
