Product Reviews

I'm new to digital I/O boards, and I was wondering if the digital I/O can produce a PWM out.

Answers

Hello Sean - The digital I/O on the USB-2623 is not designed for PWM outputs. However, the USB-2623 does have support for 4 timer outputs which are capable of generating a PWM signal output. Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.

... synchronous with the analog sampling. I can only find "asynchronous" in the description of Digital IO in its User's Manual. Also, I cannot see anything about it in the block diagram. Question 2: isn't a 4K sample FIFO much smaller than the older 1MS

Answers

The USB-26xx does not support Synchronous mode. As for FIFO size differences, the USB-25xx series employed a somewhat different strategy for when to transfer data, namely to queue up data for transmitting about every 10 mS. Also it needed enough memory to hold digital and data at rates up to 12 MHz. The USB-26xx transfers only analog data packets, and it does so more frequently, and thus does not need as much on board memory.

Thank you for your inquiry. The USB-2627 does NOT support simultaneous sampling. The USB-2627 incorporates the use of a multiplexor and one 16 bit A/D converter. If you require true simultaneous sampling (and based on the USB-2627 specifications) I would recommend that you use the USB-1608HS-2AO. You can review the specifications for the USB-1608HS-2AO here: http://www.mccdaq.com/usb-data-acquisition/USB-1608HS-2AO.aspx

Hi Steve - Yes, adding MATLAB support to the USB-2600 Series is on our radar and we’re trying to get these devices added before the end of the year.

Answers

The USB-2600 series is not a drop-in replacement. There are mechanical differences (connector locations), and also feature differences (such as single-ended only, single input range of +/- 10V)
